The last day of summer never felt so old

The end of summer came the day I took the flight back home. It was still July. Since then, not even a day has passed by without me thinking of the moments spent under the hot almighty sun staring at the big blue. The easygoing life blessed with light. The indolent days by the sea, drinking wine, reading books, meeting new friends. The smell of sun lotion. The taste of warm homemade "rakomelo", the salt on the skin. The feeling of walking barefoot on the soft burning sand. The sound of "meltemi" blowing on the narrow alleys. The beauty of the barren landscape. The starlit endless sky. The time that stops for a little while. There. Where I left a piece of my soul. On Koufonissi island.

Who will save your soul?

July 9th 2013, Koufonissi island Greece. Not even a cloud in the sky. The sun is burning the skin. Nobody can escape the light. Who wants to, anyway? We're drinking our coffee in the town of Koufonissi, planning the day ahead. 

In front of us, the endless blue Aegean sea shinning under the sunlight in all its beauty. I realize how generous the Gods have been to this place. And then, the words of a melody I hear for the first time are breaking the morning silence.. "I can feel the presence of God occupying my intensions - In my soul within my thoughts and in wasted dreary dimensions..." Soulsavers the band, Dave Gahan the vocalist, "The Light The Dead See" the album. His voice sends shivers down my spine and sets the hot day on fire. I promised myself to find the album as soon as I am back from holiday. I did it. It has been the soundtrack of this summer. Maybe the soundtrack of my life. At least, a piece of me. 

Find it. Close the eyes, turn on the volume, give in to Dave's deep sensual voice and let the melodies...save your soul..
